Every consecutive Saturday throughout the year, we run clinics and seminars to help educate the fly fishing community about topics of interest. From fly tying, to conservation, to fishing techniques, and beyond. See our list of scheduled events below. Schedule subject to change.
To make it easier to figure out it you’re ready for any specific class, we’ve labeled what each skill level the classes are:
Beginner - You have never tied flies before, or have not for an extended period of time.
Novice - You are relatively new to fly tying, but know most of the basics. You understand how to put a hook in a vise, how to whip finish, and how to hold and manipulate materials.
Intermediate - You have been fly tying for a good amount of time. You understand all the basics of fly tying, have tied both fresh and saltwater flies, and have an understanding on how to manipulate materials and spin deer hair.
Advanced - You have been tying flies for longer than you can remember. You have the skillset of intermediate tyers, but you also have tied difficult patterns, enjoy tying classic dress salmon flies, spinning deer hair, and realistic looking flies. You also tailor your flies to fit your fishing needs.
Expert - You are teaching the tying class.
Saturday Seminar Schedule
Seminars are every other Saturday throughout the year, from 10am to 12 noon. Shop clinics range from beginner to intermediate classes, and are open to the public, free of charge. Instructors for each class vary, and materials will be provided for each student. Attendees interested in joining the tying classes should bring with them a vise, tying tools, and a few spools of thread (students in need of tools can potentially use shop items when they are available).
