Smallmouth are a fantastic trophy fish that offer great opportunities to anglers, especially during the warmer months. Canoeing is the perfect vehicle for navigating the Shenandoah and pulling in hogs. A short drive outside the DC Metro area is the Shenandoah river, a high quality fishery. The country is beautiful and known for the quality of summer floats as well as the quality of the fish, requiring weekday floats to avoid the rowdy “tube hatch”.

Come loaded to bear with big poppers and meaty streamers, there will be fish large enough to bend an 8wt.

The trip will be based out of the Double Tree Hilton in Front Royal, with presentations during breakfast. Boxed lunches will be included for the floats along with bottled water and soda.

  • Meet up with the host at a prime steakhouse for dinner

  • Float the river

  • End the day with group lunch out

  • Repeat

  • Leave to fish or drive home

  • Check in at hotel (4 pm - 5 pm)

  • Meet at On Cue Sports Bar & Grill for dinner (6 pm)

  • Get drinks at the hotel bar and presentation in conference room (7:30 - 8:30 pm)

  • Breakfast, Host Round-Up (6:30 am)

  • Meet at canoe outfitter for coordinated canoeing (7:30 am)

  • Meet at El Maguey Mexican for dinner (6 pm)

The Shenandoah river is susceptible to several fishing adverse weather induced conditions (blow out, drought, and thunderstorm.) In the case of thunderstorms, we will have reserved the following dates. and alternately be floating the
