Maryland poachers banned from striped bass fishery

Two Talbot County watermen convicted of poaching and selling nearly $500,000 of striped bass over four years have received lifetime bans from taking part in that fishery by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

Lifetime bans in the commercial striped bass fishery, and banned from all commercial fishing activity for a year, followed by a 4 year probationary period.  They must also pay restitution of $498,000 to the state of Maryland.
