Well we weren't quite prepared to read that in West Virginia, Senator Joe Manchin has decided that your rights don't matter.
Just one day after a WV Supreme Court upheld a lower court ruling that prohibits gas companies from trespassing onto private property to survey for locations to place a gas pipeline, the WV Senator suggested the shift to the incoming presidency would give states power to use eminent domain to force landowners to accept fracking and gas pipelines across their properties because the state benefit from the returns from investing in the Mountaineer Gas project outweighs landowner rights. They're anticipating that the incoming change in the presidential administration would remove EPA protections.
Tell Senator Manchin to support the rights of his constituents and NOT the financial interests of big business - Office in West Virginia at (304)342-5855 Washington, D.C. office at (202)224-3954.
